Fall has reached the North Fork Koyukuk River |
Thursday, August 20, 2015
It rained all night again but luckily it stopped in the morning and we were on the river by 9:50 AM. It continued to be mostly rainy with a few sun breaks, we were able to dry out our gear during a brief sunny lunch break. We hit the rapids after Redstar Mountain without difficulty and continued floating uneventfully until 7 PM where we set up camp near Bonanza Creek, having ourselves another little campfire while the sun was out. The river had mellowed out to a class I float so it was an uneventful day, no critters spotted except for falcons.
