I had my appointment with my new primary care provider. She was fantastic and knew exactly what I needed without me asking. Additionally, she was very supportive of getting me back to my baseline of hiking long distances. After telling her about my pain and how it started, she suggested that I needed physical therapy. I told her I did 12 sessions last fall and, while they have improved my pain and mobility a lot, I was told to come back to a PCP if I was still having pain in January. Then she said, “Then you need an MRI! And depending on the results of your MRI, you’ll either need injections or an orthopedic consult.” This was music to my ears!! So she wrote an order for an MRI. Now I must wait for approval from my health insurance company. Once approval is given, I’ll be able to schedule an appointment for the MRI. I’m very excited to be taking the next step!!
