I scheduled a post-injection follow-up appointment for June 11th, the Tuesday after our last day at work. I had asked Dr. Hagen a question through the eChart website wondering how soon I could schedule surgery. She said to go ahead and schedule it and that I could use my post-injection follow up appointment as a pre-op appointment as well. She also said she books her hip surgeries about a month out. This will be perfect because, hopefully, I can schedule the surgery for the week after the pre-op appointment, minimizing the amount of time unemployed while rehabilitating. I called her surgery scheduler today. She said she had availability on June 10, but there was no way I could change my pre-op appointment to earlier than June 11 so the only availability after June 11 was June 24th. So I signed up for that date. She didn’t need any other information from me. But she did send me an email with details such as the location where the surgery was going to be performed, when I should expect a call from the OR to schedule the time of my surgery, and what I need to do the night before surgery. Although I would have preferred to have been scheduled a week earlier, I’m pleased that I don’t have to wait 4-8 weeks after the post-op appointment to have my surgery!
